Please ensure that any installer you use for Solar PV and Battery Storage installation is registered for both technologies on their MCS membership.
We were recently contacted by a person who had their installation carried out, but the relevant technologies were not held by the installer and therefore their MCS certificate and insurance did not cover them for the fault which we found on their system. The company no longer exists for any redress and therefore the customer will have to pay for this rectification just to get their system working correctly.
Currently to have battery storage technology is not yet a requirement by law for installers to install, however, as a consumer you should ensure that you are covered should any issue arise and your MCS Certificate is there to ensure everything is done in accordance with industry standards.
